Plane with steering problem creates brief alert at BTR Metro Airport

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The all clear was given at Baton Rouge Metro Airport after emergency crews were sent scrambling Tuesday night due to a plane experiencing problems during its flight.

Officials said an American Airlines flight from Dallas had steering problems on approach. The aircraft was a regional jet with 53 people on board.

It was due to land in Baton Rouge at 9:30 p.m. Officials reported the plane landed on time and safely.

Airport director Anthony Marino said passengers deplaned at the gate.
