PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) - A Port Allen, LA man was arrested Tuesday morning after they learned he was trying to hire someone to kill two people in Pointe Coupee Parish.
According to Louisiana State Police, 37-year-old Tommy Joe Gioele approached a man earlier this week and asked him to kill two people.
The man who was approached by Gioele contacted the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. Louisiana State Police began conducting undercover telephone calls to Gioele relating to the murder solicitation.
Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant charging Gioele with two counts of solicitation of murder. He was arrested Tuesday morning and booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
LSP Detectives worked closely with the LSP SWAT team, the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff's office during the course of this investigation.
