GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said a woman wanted on forgery and theft charges surrendered to them Monday afternoon.
The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported Dinea Himel, 29, of Gonzales, turned herself in to deputies. She was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on two counts of forgery and one count of theft. Bond has not been set.
Officials said they began investigating a complaint against Himel on November 26. They said she unsuccessfully tried to cash a forged stolen check at a grocery store.
According to sources, she later cashed a check for $555 at another grocery store in Gonzales.
