BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Gov. Bobby Jindal has signed many things throughout his life, but he put his "John Handcock" to something a bit different Monday.
Louisiana leaders got together to sign a large beam that represents the topping off of the huge IBM complex going up in downtown Baton Rouge.
The technology center will eventually bring in more than 1,000 jobs. The ceremony marked a construction milestone in the complex. The governor said it will help position Louisiana at or near the top in the tech industry.
"Creating new jobs is about providing jobs, so our children don't have to move to another state," Jindal said. "For too many years, our children have had to move to other states."
The IBM technology center will open in May.
