BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police are investigating the shooting death of 34-year-old Roderick Carolina. Investigators said Carolina was found shot to death at an apartment complex at the 2700 block of Alaska St, just down the street from LSU.

“Murder anywhere is difficult,” said East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore. “Here we are at a murder scene when a jury just came back on another murder. You hate to go from one murder to the other, and that's why our goal is to stop people from killing each other,” he continued.

Several neighbors in that community were furious after learning someone was shot, just a couple of blocks from Terrace Elementary.

“How are we going to show our children the positive things, but every time you turn around there is something bad going on,” said one neighbor. “That will make kids think that it's ok, but it's not.”

Police said they do not have a suspect of motive. If you have any information that can help investigators please contact Crime-Stoppers at 255-344-STOP
