BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Broadmoor High School students are playing Santa Claus.

The Student Government group collected more than $1,000 worth of gifts and presented them to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's office Christmas Crusade program. As part of the program, deputies deliver toys to needy families.

Student leaders say their participation is the perfect thing to do.

"There are some that's thinking they're not going to get anything so we always want to have that surprise to let them know that there is a Santa somewhere that will always have something for them," said student Gregory Ramirez.

Deputies will deliver the toys just in time for Christmas.
