Man from Washington arrested on burglary charges in Prairieville

PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

A man from Vancouver, Washington was arrested after employees at a Baton Rouge jewelry store recognized him from a wanted list by the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to reports from the sheriff's office, 33-year-old Joshua Crisostomo was captured on surveillance video Nov. 30 cutting a window screen and breaking a window of a home in Prairieville. The homeowner was home at the time.

Then on Dec. 1, Crisostomo was involved in a vehicle burglary at a convenience store on Perkins Road in Prairieville. He was seen on surveillance video stealing a wallet and ATM card out of an unlocked vehicle. He was seen using a credit card stolen from the vehicle in the parking lot of the convenience store.

Crisostomo was arrested and charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, criminal trespass, simple criminal damage to property less than $500, simple burglary, access device fraud of $500 to $1,500, and theft less than $750.

He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail where no bond has been set yet.
