BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The United Way helped Mattress Direct and Tempurpedic give away brand new mattresses to three dozen children in need on Tuesday.
The kids were selected by Big Buddy.
Mattress Direct owner Kim Burns says the community has been good to her four store locations and it is time to give back. United Way says the donation is unique, but important.
"We're providing a good night's rest for the children who may or may not have had a brand new mattress, and so we think, long-term, this is going to be a great benefit for both the child and the family, as well as a great sentiment for the caring power of the corporate community here in Baton Rouge," said President and CEO of CAUW Darrin Goss.
Mattress Direct will deliver the new mattresses to the kids' homes.
