This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to John Hariford.
Hariford was quick to react on the Facebook page to the news that the East Baton Rouge Metro Council had passed a new complete streets policy. The plan is intended to make it easier to get around town walking or on a bike. Hariford thinks there more important traffic issues to deal with.
In his words: Makes no send to me. I spend hours daily stuck in the horrible traffic passing through Baton Rouge. What they need to worry about is the interstate system. The bike lanes and sidewalks. Come on really? How about fixing the traffic problems. Bikes and people walking are not a problem. Two hours to get from Port Allen to Denham or Highland. That's a problem. Fix what's wrong before wasting taxpayer money on projects that only make sense for a small percentage of the people.
