BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Detectives said two arrests have been made in Thursday's deadly shooting on George Oneal Road.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Byron Maxon, 26, and Troy Carter Jr., 26, have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting death of Ivan Molina, 38.

They are both charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.

Deputies said Molina was shot after responding to a knock on his door Thursday night. He was taken to the hospital, but later died from his injuries.

Investigators said Maxon and Molina knew one another and had an ongoing dispute. Maxon was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Friday. Carter was caught early Saturday morning in Hammond. He was taken to the hospital to have a gunshot wound treated. Upon his release, he was booked into the parish prison.

The investigation is still ongoing, so anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
