Shooting in apartment complex parking lot leaves 2 wounded

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The parking lot of an apartment complex was the scene of a shooting Wednesday night.

It happened at Spanish Arms apartment complex on Denham Street in Baton Rouge. The location is not far from Claiborne Elementary School.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said the shooting resulted in three reported incidents. According to police, two people were shot and one of them drove to two different locations trying to get help.

Witnesses said one man was shot in the stomach. He was found lying in the parking lot of the complex. The other victim was reportedly shot in the arm.

Investigators said the second victim first went to a family member's house on Betty Smothers Drive, but no one was there. Police said he then drove to Randal Place Road and found someone to take him to the hospital.

Authorities said both victims are expected to recover. Their names were not released.

The shooter has not yet been identified.
