NEW ROADS, LA (WAFB) - Arson investigators are looking for the person who intentionally set a house on fire Monday night.
Authorities reported the fire happened at a home on St. Anne Street in New Roads around 10:30 p.m. They added the two adults and three children inside at the time made it out safely and no injuries were reported.
Officials said the wooden home had moderate damage due to the fire.
Investigators said a search of the home turned up drug paraphernalia and a gun. They added Jeffery Hollins, 28, who owns the home, had an outstanding bench warrant for reckless operation and criminal damage to property.
Hollins was arrested on charges of possession of Schedule I narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
He is not suspected of being involved with setting the fire.
