ERBSO: Hit and Run investigation ends in two arrests

Sheriff's deputies with the EBRSO investigating an hit and run incident arrest two.

According to a report from the ERBSO, Early Friday morning William Mathis, 26, and Robert Bello, 26, allegedly ran a truck into property owned by L'Auberge Casino causing damage to the sprinkler system, landscaping, and concrete.

Upon arrival to the scene, casino security and ERBSO deputies had the two suspects detained a half mile east from the scene of the collision.

Both men denied being the driver of the vehicle, and attempted to pin the blame on an unknown third person. Security camera footage indicated that there were no other people in the vehicle, and that one of the suspects were seen to be getting behind the wheel of the vehicle before leaving the scene.

There was also a trail of debris and fluid leading from the collision to the vehicle. Both suspects were charged with interfering with an official investigation, and criminal damage to property.

No mugshot was available for Robert Bello.
