BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A great group of guys was up to good on Thanksgiving Day. What started out as a few guys standing around talking and drinking coffee turned into a bunch of blessing, one box at a time.
Terrell Lewis knows what it's like to be thankful. He survived cancer twice, only to find out in September that it's back again. Although, on this day, you'd never know any of that, especially not by the way he and his buddies were at it on this day.
Lewis retired from Honeywell and along the way, he gathered a group of guys and together, they are the "Men Giving Back Club."
Throughout the year, they each chip in a little here and there and eventually put it all together at Thanksgiving and fill boxes for those who really need them.
They've grown to 60 boxes.
"We are blessed and so, we want to bless," Lewis said. "We are supposed to be our brother's keeper."
It's one thing to be thankful, but it's another to give others a reason to be thankful for you.
