HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office are investigating a shooting that happened Monday afternoon in Hammond, LA that left two people wounded.
Shortly after 3 p.m., deputies were called to the 13000 block of Quick Blvd. after reports of multiple shots fired. When they arrived, they found multiple gun shell casings near the front door of the residence.
Reports say a large crowd was gathered in front of the home when the shots were fired by an unknown shooter. One person inside the home was wounded and an alleged bystander was shot in the stomach. Both people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Several witnesses are being interviewed about the shooting and two persons of interest have been identified.
Deputies say the motive for the shooting is believed to be "the aftermath of an altercation that occurred earlier that day stemming from an unresolved dice game."
