BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities said a work release inmate was arrested on more charges after walking off the job site Friday and allegedly sexually assaulting a woman.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Carlos Brothers, 36, of Winnsboro, was booked on simple escape, sexual battery and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Brothers was an inmate in West Feliciana Parish that was assigned to work at a business in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Investigators said after leaving the site, he entered a home without permission and groped a woman before leaving.

According to the probable cause report, workers at the site told deputies they saw Brothers leave. During questioning, Brothers reportedly admitted to walking off the job site, but denied entering the home or touching the woman.

No bond was set.
