BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man was arrested last week after he was accused of punching his mother in the face, threatening her with a knife, and knocking her out of her wheelchair.
Reports say 41-year-old Spencer Elmore punched the victim in the face and destroyed furniture in the house. He then grabbed a knife from the kitchen, but the victim took the knife away from him as he was raising the knife up. That is when Elmore allegedly pushed her wheelchair over and knocked her out of the chair.
The woman was unable to get back into her wheelchair.
Reports say Elmore left the house before the police arrived. The victim told police her son was intoxicated and on drugs.
After the initial investigation, Elmore returned to the house and police officers were called back. Reports say Elmore ran from the officers, but was caught by K-9 officers.
Elmore has been charged with aggravated domestic assault, criminal damage to property, cruelty to the infirm, and resisting an officer. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. A bond has not yet been set.
