Hazardous Material day hits collection milestone

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge residents took an opportunity Saturday to get rid of their hazardous materials.

For the past 28 years, organizers of the Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day say that people have disposed of over three million pounds of hazardous products thanks in part to these collection days.

Materials like fertilizers, pool chemicals, tires, and other types of materials were accepted at the Memorial Stadium Parking Lot. The next collection day is scheduled for the spring.

More information about how you can dispose of hazardous waste is available at Baton Rouge's government website,
