BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Law enforcement officials are reminding everyone to buckle up.
According to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, there were more than 400 crashes and five deaths last Thanksgiving break making it one of the most dangerous holidays of the year.
"The reason police officers across the state want people to wear their seatbelts is that it's the number one way you can prevent serious injuries in a car crash," said Jared Sandifer, State Police Troop A.
That's why law enforcement agencies are participating in the "Click it or Ticket" campaign in hopes of saving more lives. The campaign kicks off Saturday through Sunday, Nov. 30.
