BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The public is invited to share its ideas and input about what people would like to see out of the River Road in Baton Rouge travel lane reduction project.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is in the early stages of the project to make River Road from Florida Street north to the Hollywood Casino more accessible for cars, bikers and pedestrians.
According to the Downtown Development District, the plan includes a proposed lane reduction for a portion of US 61 (River Road) from four lanes to three lanes. The plan continues the three lanes currently found on River Road south of Florida Street to Phlox Ave in the north part of downtown.
Representatives from DOTD will be at the public meeting to answer questions and provide information about construction timelines.
The public meeting is from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Downtown Development District on Florida Street.
