GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

Four people were arrested this week for drug possession. They were caught after deputies saw they were illegally parked in a handicapped spot.

Deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office saw an unoccupied vehicle illegally parked in a handicapped spot at a convenience store in Gonzales on Tuesday. After four people got into the vehicle and left, detectives pulled the vehicle over.

Reports say the driver, 43-year-old John Johnson had warrants out for failure to appear in court. During the investigation, detectives searched the vehicle and found heroin, drug paraphernalia and two firearms. One of the firearms was reported stolen from a neighboring parish.

John Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, parking in a handicap lane, no turn signals and three counts of failure to appear in court.

Raelynn Johnson, 22, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal carrying of weapons.

Landarrius Alverez, 26, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, illegal carrying of a weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jonquill Muse, 29, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of stolen firearm, illegal carrying of a weapon, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

All were booked in the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
