(WAFB) - Gardeners can learn how to grow microgreens and create eye-catching, edible landscapes by attending a garden workshop at Southern University's Agricultural Research and Extension Center.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 25. It will be free and open to the public.
Some of the topics that will be discussed are how to know which insects are good and bad for a garden, planning for seasonal vegetables, and growing non-traditional vegetables. Lunch will also be provided for participants.
Those who attend the workshop will also be able to tour Southern's Agriculture Center's new "Urban Demonstration Farm", which features raised bed gardens of winter vegetables.
The workshop will be held in room 191 in A.O. Williams Hall – Southern Agriculture Center, 181 B. A. Little Drive, in Baton Rouge.
