Ponchatoula man arrested in string of burglaries

HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Ponchatoula man in connection with a string of burglaries and two others at the suspect's home have been arrested on drug-related charges.

Robert Earl Sykes, Jr., 27, was arrested and charged with three counts of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. Upon searching Sykes' home, detectives found numerous items that were reported stolen and approximately three grams of suspected heroin, synthetic marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Two occupants at the home – Christopher Wittee , 25, and Wendy Sue Lamprecht, 22, were charged with possession of synthetic marijuana, intent to distribute, felony possession of stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives are still investigating and they believe there may be some additional charges.
