BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A suspected killer is off the streets after turning himself in to authorities Monday evening in connection with a weekend murder.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Marcus Dominique, 22, of Baton Rouge, is charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon in the shooting death of Eric Kinchen, 32, also of Baton Rouge. Bond has not been set.
According to documents, the two men lived at the same apartment complex on Port Drive.
Deputies said they received a report of shots fired on Port Drive near GSRI Avenue around 10 a.m. Saturday. They arrived on the scene to find a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Authorities said Kinchen was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Detectives said Dominique was established as a suspect over the course of the investigation and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
