BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two Baton Rouge police officers who were fired Friday after they were indicted earlier this week have turned themselves in.
The officers Travis Wheeler, 27, and Emerson Jackson, 32, turned themselves in Friday afternoon. They have been booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish prison.
The two were fired after a grand jury indicted both with abuse of power charges related to a sex act.
According to investigators, in early February, the two officers and a former BRPD officer, Isaac Bolden, walked up to a man and woman parked in a BREC park. The man was reportedly forced to leave. Bolden then allegedly asked the woman to perform a sexual act on him.
Bolden resigned from the force later in February after having been with BRPD for just over a year. He is expected to turn himself in next week.
Wheeler and Emerson had both been with BRPD at least five years.
All three former officers could face five years in prison if convicted.
