An employee of Acadian Food Mart in Scott, LA was arrested Tuesday after she was caught on surveillance video stealing food and drinks from the grocery store shelves, and stealing money from the register and cash deposits.

It all happened over the last eight months.

On Oct. 4, 2014, owners of Acadian Food Mart called the Scott Police Department. Investigators were able to observe the crimes on surveillance video, and also saw the employee give cigarettes and sell alcohol to minors.

After a lengthy investigation, Scott Police Department detectives were able to obtain a warrant for Melissa Kathryn Jones. Patrol units were able to locate Ms. Jones at her residence on November 11, 2014, where she was taken into custody and booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for the warrant and an unrelated traffic warrant.
