BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Metro Council will take up the issue of body cameras for the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The council recently showed support for the idea, but the question remains how to pay for them.
Police Chief Carl Dabadie's initial estimate for the cameras was about $312,000.
Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle said she's been talking to AT&T about the company possibly providing the cameras through a grant.
She invited AT&T to present ideas at Wednesday night's meeting. There has been no word whether that's going to happen, though.
