BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU was ahead 13-10 on Alabama with less than 1:00 left in regulation before losing 20-13 in overtime Saturday night. This was the Tigers' third loss of the season.
LSU gained 183 yards on the ground, but quarterback Anthony Jennings had trouble connecting with his receivers as he completed only 8 passes on 26 attempts for 76 yards. However, one of those completions was a 6-yard touchdown to wide receiver Malachi Dupre, who made an impressive one-handed catch.
Freshman running back Leonard Fournette led all rushers with 79 yards on 21 carries. Jennings ran the ball 13 times for 40 yards.
Alabama quarterback completed 20 of his 45 pass attempts for 209 yards and two touchdowns. TJ Yeldon was the leading rusher for the Crimson Tide with 68 yards on 15 carries.
The Tigers went up 13-10 on a 39-yard field goal that was set up by a fumble by Yeldon. However, the ensuing kickoff was an intentional squib kick that went out of bounds, so the Tide started from the 35-yard line. Alabama drove 55 yards in :50 and tied the game on a 27-yard field goal by Adam Griffith.
In the overtime, Alabama got the ball first and scored on a 6-yard pass from Sims to wide receiver DeAndrew White. LSU then threw four consecutive incomplete passes.
