Child shot in the hand, expected to be okay

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A child was shot in the hand and now the Baton Rouge Police are looking into how it happened.

Officers were called to Spedale Street near Mohican and Plank before 6 p.m.

Police say the child got his hands on a gun that may have fallen out of a family member's pocket then detectives say he accidentally shot himself in the hand while playing with the gun. He's expected to be okay.

No word yet if anyone will be charged.
