Edwards casts his vote on Election Day

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) - Cameras caught up with former Gov. Edwin Edwards, who is now running for US representative in Louisiana's 6th Congressional District, as he voted on Election Day.

He cast his ballot at the Ward 5 Fire Department in Gonzales around 10 a.m. He is considered the top Democrat in the race, as he tries to make a political comeback. The two other Democrats vying for Congressman Bill Cassidy's seat are Richard Lieberman and Peter Williams.

There are seven Republicans in the race. They are Garret Graves, Robert Bell, Dan Claitor, Paul Dietzel, Craig McCulloch, Trey Thomas and Lenar Whitney.

Libertarian Rufus Craig Jr. is also running.

Cassidy is trying to unseat incumbent US Sen. Mary Landrieu.
