President/CEO of Redevelopment Authority resigns

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Walter Monsour, former chief aide to Mayor Kip Holden, resigned Monday afternoon as president and CEO of the East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority (RDA).

In his resignation letter, Monsour said he hoped it would extend the financial life of the RDA. He has said RDA's work to revive Mid-City was in jeopardy without city-parish funding.

Besides re-use of the old Entergy building on Government Street, RDA is also working on an an urban village near Baton Rouge Community College.
