Firefighters work to put out major house fire

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Firefighters responded to a major house fire Saturday night.

The fire happened on Memorial Tower Drive, just south of LSU, around 7:30 p.m. Firefighters arrived on the scene and noted flames were shooting through the roof in several places.

Witnesses said five people, a mother and her four stepchildren, were inside the house at the time of the fire. They added the family had just moved into the house earlier this year.

There were no injuries reported and a cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
