Eleven children, one adult injured in crash involving an ATV

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - State Police say several juveniles and one adult were injured in a two vehicle crash that involved an ATV.  The accident happened around 9:00 pm Friday night on Cane Market Road just west of Walker North Road in Livingston Parish

Troopers say Ashley Posey, 37, was traveling westbound on Cane Market Road, driving an ATV and pulling a utility trailer that was carrying approximately 20 juvenile passengers. At the same time, Victoria Farr, 33, was also driving westbound on Cane Market Road.  The utility trailer that was carrying the juveniles did not have proper lighting and Farr struck the trailer from behind.

An adult passenger that was riding on the front utility rack of the ATV sustained moderate injuries in the crash.  He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.  Eleven of the twenty juveniles that were riding on the trailer were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Posey was cited for off-road vehicles; authorization for use on the shoulders of certain public roads and highways and tail lamps. Farr was cited for safety belt use and child passenger restraint system.
