BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The ashes from the Ebola victim's belongings will not be coming to Louisiana.

Attorney General Buddy Caldwell announced the final decision Friday saying 'the State of Louisiana reached an agreement with Texas incinerator Veolia Environmental Services and Louisiana hazardous waste landfill Chemical Waste Management to make sure that incinerator ash associated with the recent Dallas Ebola virus occurrence will not be transported or disposed of in Louisiana."

The attorney general's office obtained a restraing order in the 19th Judicial Court on Oct. 13 to temporarily stop the transport of the ashes into the state.  The temporary restraining order was extended on Oct. 21 at the request of all parties, before ultimately arriving at today's agreement.

"I am pleased today's agreement ends this chapter in the controversy of the transportation and disposal of Ebola waste," Caldwell said.
