BREAUX BRIDGE, LA (WAFB) - A community is grieving the loss of two young girls.

A candlelight vigil was held Thursday night in Breaux Bridge to remember the group of teenagers hit by a truck while walking to school Thursday morning.

Two of them were killed – ages 14 and 15. A 13-year-old girl was seriously hurt and is in a Baton Rouge hospital.

The mother of one of the victims says this whole ordeal doesn't seem real.

"Words can't explain how I feel right now," said Sylina Demonchet.  "It just feels like a dream like someone's going to come and wake me up and say oh girl you're having a bad dream."

Investigators say 32-year-old Jeremy Abraham was driving and hit the girls from behind. He was arrested and taken to the hospital where he is in critical condition.
