SLIDELL, LA (WAFB) - A Slidell man has been arrested and charged with 25 counts of distributing pornography involving juveniles.
Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell says 29-year-old Jeremy Petry was arrested Wednesday as part of a joint undercover investigation into the downloading and distribution of child pornography. After a search warrant was executed at Petry's house, he was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
Petry is charged with violating a state law forbidding a person to produce, distribute, possess, or possess with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles. If convicted as charged, he faces up to 20 years in prison on each count of child pornography.
"These offenders who distribute child pornography online provide dangerous access for other predators to view and download images of the most unthinkable abuses inflicted on innocent children," said Attorney General Caldwell. "That's why it is so important that we always remain one step ahead of these criminals. By using innovative investigative techniques and staying equipped with the latest technology we can shut these operations down and fight the vicious cycle of child exploitation and abuse."
