Investigators try to determine cause of fire that destroyed vacant home

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Firefighters were called out to a blaze that destroyed a vacant house late Tuesday night.

Only a pile of debris was left of the home on South 16th Street in Baton Rouge. The Baton Rouge Fire Department said the fire was reported around 10:30 p.m.

Officials reported crews arrived on the scene to find flames shooting from different parts of the house. They added the home was boarded up and had been vacant for a while.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
