BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana Secretary of State's Office released early voting statistics Wednesday morning.
The report showed 188,988 registered voters across the state cast their ballots early. East Baton Rouge Parish had 22,204 voters make their selections early, which was only second to Orleans Parish. It had 23,152 early voters.
There are 2.86 million total registered voters in the state, which means about 6.5 percent voted early in this election.
In 2012, more than 356,000 people voted early in the state. In 2008, there were more than 292,000 ballots cast early.
Those who did not vote early can vote on Election Day, which is November 4.
