BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Officials said a high school student was arrested Friday morning on a cyberbullying charge after allegedly threatening another student via Twitter.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Patricia Brown, 19, a student at McKinley High, is accused of posting a message to her Twitter account on October 15 that she would fight a 16-year-old girl again at school.
Deputies said Brown was arrested on October 15 on a charge of simple battery involving the same 16-year-old.
According to the probable cause report, when the victim saw the tweet about Brown wanting to fight her again, she contacted school officials.
Brown was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of cyberbullying. It is a misdemeanor.
Bond was not set.
