Metro council approves annexations

Metro Council agrees to lawsuit settlement, approves 2 annexation requests

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - It's another blow to the city of St. George.

The Metro Council nearly unanimously approved annexations including the LSU Ben Hur Research substation, LSU fire training ground, and L'Auberge Casino at its meeting Wednesday.

The moves were the latest in Baton Rouge's battle against the proposed city of St. George. The latest annexations are expected to take millions out of the proposed city's budget.

Uber also got the green light to provide its ride-sharing service at the Baton Rouge Metro Airport.

City leaders approved the temporary contract for $100 dollars per month.
