BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said an initiative aimed at making a neighborhood safer for the people who live there resulted in eight arrests and the seizure of various drugs.
The East Baton Rouge Parish reported the eight arrests cleared 13 outstanding warrants ranging from traffic violations to drug possession.
They noted one of the suspects was Thomas Cahill, 21, of Baton Rouge. Deputies stated they seized 136.8 grams of marijuana, 8.5 grams of mushrooms, .7 grams of heroin and seven Prozac pills from his residence.

Devin Gerard was issued a summons for possession of marijuana.
EBRSO added this is one of many initiatives it has conducted, resulting in hundreds of arrests and the clearing of more than 1,000 outstanding warrants.
