PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) - Jury selection began Wednesday for the trial of two suspects in what investigators call a murder for hire case.
The process will resume Thursday morning.
Monique Kitts is accused of hiring Corey Knox to kill her husband at their home in Addis in July 2010.
The West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Corey Kitts was shot three times in the head while he slept. Prosecutors believe his wife was trying to cash in on his insurance policy.
Monique Kitts faces a charge of second-degree murder. Knox is charged with first-degree murder. A third suspect, Karl Howard, is also charged with first-degree murder.
