9News Investigators: WBR Sheriff's Office Captain demoted, deputy fired for separate offenses

WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - According to officials with the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, a captain has been demoted and a deputy has been fired.

Robert Duclo was suspended without pay for a day after completion of the investigation into allegations for inappropriate comments to an employee working at the WBRSO re-entry program. The complaint was made Oct 10.

Delco was a WBRSO captain, but was demoted to lieutenant on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Duclo is also the Assistant Warden for WBRSO and will keep his position there. He is additionally required to go through an employee risk evaluation and 12 sessions of sensitivity training.

Also in West Baton Rouge Parish, Deputy Brent Ballard was suspended without pay for one day after filing a fictitious report. He was demoted from sergeant to corporal for that.

On Friday, however, he did not show up to work and did not have any sick time, so he was fired.

Ballard was a 4-year veteran of West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office.

A representative for the WBRSO said they want it known they will not tolerate such behavior.
