Breaux Bridge man charged with second degree murder

ST. MARTINVILLE, LA (WAFB) - The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office charged a Breaux Bridge man with second degree murder on Thursday.

The sheriff's office is reporting that 28-year-old Emmanuel Sam was shot at Kennedy Drive in Arnaudville shortly after 2:30 p.m. after an altercation with the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jamie Zenon.

Witnesses at the scene say that Zenon fled the scene after the shooting. Investigators that Zenon was apprehended at a residence in Breaux Bridge.

Zenon was booked at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center where he was charged with one count of second degree murder.

No bond has been set, and the investigation remains ongoing.
