BRPD hosts free community Halloween party on Oct. 30

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is hosting a community Halloween party on Oct. 30 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

"Chief Dabadie wanted to do something for the public this year because he thought it would be a good idea to let kids see police officers as human beings and have interaction with them that's fun," said Sgt. Mary Ann Godawa.

Party goers will be entertained with a haunted house, a costume contests, games, music, food and more. "It's going to be a lot of fun," said St. Godawa.

"There are so many activities on Halloween night so we thought to have it the night before. This way they can do both," she said.

The event will be held at the new Baton Rouge Police Department Headquarters at 9000 Airline Highway, which is where they hosted Night Out Against Crime Thursday night.

"We think it was a real success. I've never seen this many people come out to a night out against crime," said Godawa.
