BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Baton Rouge man was arrested early Friday morning after being charged with intentionally exposing a woman to HIV/AIDS.

According to police reports, 32-year-old Justin Lorenzo Thomas was in a relationship with a woman between March 2013 and May 2014. In the report it states that Thomas has been HIV positive since 2008.

Reports also show that Thomas engaged in unprotected sexual activity with the victim on multiple occasions, while knowing he was HIV positive. "At no time did (Thomas) warn the victim that he had HIV or attempt to protect the victim from contracting the disease," the report stated.

When the victim learned that Thomas was HIV positive, he admitted to her that he knew he had HIV and he had been charged with this crime before.

In 2009, Thomas was charged with intentionally exposing two correctional facility officers at the Allen Parish Correctional Facility. "Not only was (Thomas) charged with intentionally exposing the two correctional officers, but he was also under the care of medical staff at the correctional facility for being HIV positive," noted in the police report. He was incarcerated in 2008 and 2009.

Thomas was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. No bond has been set.

If convicted, Thomas could face a maximum fine of $5,000 and/or 10 years in prison.
