BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Leaders with the Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination program (BRAVE) cut the ribbon on a new office location Thursday at the Family and Youth Services Center (FYSC) in Baton Rouge.

"I am so glad they're going to be here," said Roxson Welch, director of the Family and Youth Service Center. "It's one more link in the chain that's going to make Baton Rouge the most powerful group of collaborators in the nation."

The Youth Service Center is already home to a number of community programs geared towards promoting workforce development, education training, and trade skills like the culinary arts. Welch says adding BRAVE and their resources to the center will be a great benefit to the entire community.

"By putting these things in the same place, instead of sending people across town which is quite often impossible, you send them across the sidewalk or you send them up in a building, or across the hall," Welch said.
