BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect involved in a shooting that left a Baton Rouge professional boxer on life support.
The victim, 38-year-old Emanuel Burton, a.k.a. Emanuel Augustus, was shot on Oct. 13 around 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of Louisiana Avenue. He was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
A vehicle was captured on surveillance video leaving the Mid City Garden Apartments just prior to the shooting. Detectives believed that one of the two male occupants was responsible for the shooting.
The arrest warrant was issued for 21-year-old Christopher Stills. Officials with Baton Rouge Police say Stills is presently on probation for robbery and burglary convictions.
The motive for the shooting is unknown and Stills is wanted for attempted second degree murder, felon in possession of a handgun and illegal use of a weapon.
