BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - "Rockets to the Rescue" is what they called a program at Southern University Wednesday for about a hundred middle schoolers. And that means that teams had to launch their projects.
"We built rockets out of card stock. No fire involved," said Tiffany Franklin with Southern University Ag Center. "After being created they had to deliver four raisins to someone in the area."
The raisins represented food or whatever might be needed after a disaster where rescue trucks cannot get through. Students in the fifth through ninth grades enjoyed the 4-H program by practicing with some aerodynamic engineering.
