Police search for suspects in 2 separate shootings

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that sent two people to the hospital Tuesday night, but fortunately, the injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police were called to Women's Hospital around 9:30 p.m. because of a shooting victim there. A man was shot in the arm. According to reports, the victim told investigators he was shot on Boulevard De Province by someone in a black Chevrolet Tahoe.

An ambulance took him to another hospital to be treated for the gunshot wound.

Police responded to reports of shots fired in the Belaire area just after 11 p.m. They said a witness on La Margie Avenue told them the victim was driven to a hospital. Officers were able to get in contact with the victim and learned he was also shot in the arm.

Investigators said the victim was able to give detectives a partial name of a possible suspect. According to reports, the victim said the shooter chased him and shot him.

Both shootings remain under investigation.
